"Kerala is in a state of flux. Caught between a communist past and capitalist future, between pessimistic melodrama loving older generation and a practical cosmopolitan young generation. A land blessed by nature being destroyed by false pride of its people. The time of this land is yet to come"

You mean its time is up? Pessimistic I know...but after the paddy fields are gone and the coconut groves have vanished the land would have lost its identity as Kerala!
hi silverine,
Nope, Optimistic. "Its time is YET to come".
This land will find its glory. It is just going through a bad phase.
Paddy fields and coconut groves will be replaced by high-risers. But i personally think that is okay because times are changing and everyone has aspirations, people are educated, they want white collar jobs and would want their kids to be techies, or doctors. I know that i would not want to cultivate paddy or climb coconut trees myself. So how can i ask that of others. But i love my rice-kanji and coconut chutney. I am sure I will find a way out.
I am optimistic.
